Milestone 1

Depth of palpation

AbSim detects the pressure associated with the learner's palpatory efforts in real time and provides immediate feedback sufficient to improve their capacity to detect the presence or absence of critical abdominal palpatory abnormalities. 

Milestone 2

Surface Area Coverage

AbSim tracks the location of the learner's palpatory efforts in real time and provides immediate feedback regarding the thoroughness of their abdominal examination sufficient to improve their capacity to detect the presence or absence of critical abdominal palpatory abnormalities.

Milestone 3

Abnormality Detection

AbSim tests the learner's ability to reliably detect and distinguish  a core set of abdominal abnormalities/the presence of localized tenderness, guarding and/or organ omegally.

Milestone 4

Self Assessment with random ailments

AbSim tests the learner's ability to reliably detect abnormal abdominal findings and identify their location. (e.g. localized tenderness or localized tenderness and guarding over the appendix, ovaries, colon, splenomegaly, etc.)

Milestone 5

Diagnosis integration with hx/pe

AbSim integrates historical data gathering skills and physical examination skills in a manner sufficient to reliably diagnose a variety of common/important abdominal disorders.
